The Pleasant Streets of Petworth
This was about my third visit to Petworth in West Sussex and if you haven’t been you are in for a treat. The streets are lined with quaint old buildings, antique shops, interior shops, art galleries, cafes and independent bookshops to name but a few, what a great combination.
I have only named a few here but these are by no means the only places worth visiting. My favourite street is Lombard Street, this lovely old cobbled street houses various The Kevis House Gallery and Forest Gallery, wonderful Antique shops including a shop called Tullulah Fox, which sells antiques plus a wide array of homewares. You can see the passion the owner Tiffany has for textiles and travel by the items she selects, an interesting and eclectic mix of the old and new.
Below are just some of the things that caught my eye at Tullulah Fox but you could spend quite some time there on the various floors and there is so much to see. You can tell the owner Tiffany has a great passion for textiles and travel by what adorns her shop, an eclectic mix of old and new, rustic and contemporary.
Go for a visit … you will wonder why you didn’t visit earlier!
I am sure there are lots of lovely cafes and restaurants in Petworth but on this particular visit I decide to try Tiffins Tea Rooms. The cafe was adorned with lots of teapots of various shapes and sizes and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There was a wide selection of drinks on the blackboard including proper loose leaf teas and locally sourced coffees. They have a variety of delicious looking homemade cakes and tasty treats and also serve a hearty breakfast or dinner.I loved the cosy decor and the pretty glass light fittings of varying colours gave it that added interest. It hopefully will be the first of many visits.
Bone Interiors just draws you in as soon as you set eyes on it. The elegant window displays give you a glimpse of what lies ahead. A stunningly beautiful shop full to the brim with a unique collection of both contemporary, classic and vintage antiques, furniture and accessories. There is china and glassware, prints and throws, mirrors, furniture and lamps. It is definitely worth a visit and I hope to be back frequently.
I think I will definitely have to do a second blog post about Petworth as there are so many lovely places there. It is definitely eye candy for the artist and I am sure in the not so distant future I will be painting my favourite street… watch this space.
