Chichester Art Trail
This month I was excited to again be part of the Chichester Art Trail. This is a wonderful event and gives people an opportunity to see the talent of their local artists and makers, to see the inside of many studios and to purchase from them directly.
It was wonderful to see the number of Art Trail signs dotted about the Sussex countryside showing the number of creatives that are in the area.
I thoroughly enjoyed opening up the studio to many visitors over the course of two weekends. The bank holiday Monday was particularly busy and it was so lovely meeting lots of art lovers and to hear peoples positive feedback particularly as much of studio life is working on your own. This is the time of year when the studio is at its tidiest belief me :)
I was very impressed at the amount of people who visit the trail on bikes, getting fit as well as appreciating art and crafts, although it would be a little tricky if you wanted a painting!
This year was my second on the trail and was far more rewarding with more guests and more sales. I think its because people are feeling more confident in going to events and the trail returned to the spring rather than summer.
I had just completed my New Collection ‘Foliage & Flowers’ inspired by the stunning scenery of West Sussex and the wildflowers and hidden paths around the area. Two of my favourite paintings went to their new homes, ‘Where birds sing’ and ‘A Way Through’. To see more of this collection you can click here ….
If you haven’t been to an open studio event I would encourage you to do so, there is probably one in your area or within a reasonable distance. Can’t wait for next year, see you there!
