Arundel - Part 2

As I mentioned last week I went to visit the beautiful Arundel Castle Gardens in the spring and wanted to start with a few more photos highlighting this wonderful place.

Whilst perusing the gardens it was hard to miss the dramatic Arundel Cathedral on the horizon so on this occasion I made a quick visit to the Cathedral . Below is a picture of its glorious rose window and beautiful architecture.

As I then meandered along the High Street I visited a few more of the independent shops but as I was limited for time I have to say there were many more that I shall have to come back to visit on another occasion.

This lovely shop ‘The Tea and Biscuit Club’ is a delight to behold. As you enter you are greeted with a colourful array of teapots displayed on a circular layered stand, topped with tempting bags of homemade shortbread, which I can assure you is absolutely delicious. I purchased a bag for my mum and felt it would be unkind to not share in the occasion of consuming this delightful treat with her.

The owners describe their shop as having ‘an impressive collection of exquisite teas and herbal infusions from all over the world.’

Well they certainly have an impressive choice and make you feel at home as you take your time taking in this visual feast.

The next shop I entered was The Copper Pan Fudge Company, with its rustic and stylish interior. There are numerous flavours to choose from and all beautifully packaged. I decided on this occasion to buy some Scottish Tablet as it always reminds me of my granny who used to make it for me as a child as a special treat.
They have not only won "Best Confectionery” award for their ‘Coppercrunch Butter Toffee’ at The Great British Food Awards 2020 but also went on to win "Grand British Champion.”

‘Arondelle’ is another shop that enticed me in with a perfect mix of antiques, gifts and coffee. There is a cute area at the end of the shop by an impressive looking fireplace where you can take a moment to yourself and admire the surroundings whilst grazing on coffee and cake. I resisted on this occasion but hope to visit again at a more leisurely pace.

Well that’s it for this weeks blog. Arundel has so many good points, a wide range of things to do, see and experience, most definitely one of my favourite places to visit in the area and needs more than one or two visits to take it all in.

Next week I’m planning on talking about something to do with my painting process, let me know if you have any questions and I will see what I can do or cover it on a future blog.
