Autumn Days

Even though the end of summer can make you feel a little gloomy, the Autumn soon brings its own rewards with its warm and rustic colours. I love my times walking when I can take a moment to wonder at the natural world around me as the sun lights up the leaves giving them a warm and sometimes fiery glow. Bunches of berries in their abundance show off their variety with their red and orange coats.

Last week I travelled up to the North East and then continued up to East Lothian to the small town of Gullane for a few days. As I walked down to the beach, again I was struck by the beautiful Autumn colours framing the seascape beyond. Pale blue green spiky leaves complimented the bright orange berries. Although my visit was short it felt so good to take some time out and slow down as I haven’t really had many breaks this year just a few days in the Spring. When you are self employed sometimes you get out of the habit of the time off you used to take when working for a company especially if you work on your own. Working for yourself definitely has a lot of benefits but also some drawbacks.

The run up to Christmas is usually my busiest time of the year with increased orders and also the Christmas stalls that I am involved in.This year I am taking part in The South of England Agricultural Society’s annual Winter Fair in Ardingly and another smaller local one in Bracklesham, West Sussex.

I am also planning a Skillshare class which I will talk more about in the next few weeks….watch this space if you have wanted a go at acrylic painting but have never got started and just need some gentle encouragement to set you in the right direction.
